About us

Origine 1977

For nearly five decades, Groupe La Tanière has shaped Quebec's gastronomic landscape. Founded in 1977 by Laurier Therrien, what began as a pioneering restaurant in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures has evolved into a group of four distinct establishments in the heart of Old Quebec City.

Under the leadership of Karen Therrien and Frédéric Laplante since 2002, the Group has earned multiple accolades, including the prestigious 4 Diamond CAA/AAA rating. In 2014, the opening of Légende marked a shift toward bistronomy, quickly followed by inclusion in Canada's Top 100 Restaurants.

2019 saw a new generation take shape with the move to 36½ rue Saint-Pierre. In this history-laden building, three complementary concepts emerged: Tanière³ for fine dining, L’Orygine for inclusive plant-based cuisine, and Vieux Carré for the art of the cocktail.

Today, Elliot Beaudoin leads the kitchens at Légende, Sabrina Lemay heads L’Orygine, and François-Emmanuel Nicol orchestrates Tanière³. This team of passionate chefs carries the Group’s legacy to new heights, each bringing their unique vision to this ever-evolving culinary family.
